Wilfrid was the son of George Taylor Thompson. He began his degree in the academic session 1912-1913, but appears to have left his studies to join the war effort.
Wilfrid was killed in action Sept 1915 aged 20 years old. He was killed in the Battle of Loos on the second day of fighting.
Wilfred is commemorated at the Loos Memorial, Pas de Calais, France.
